“Startling, funny and painful!” - Screen International

“A painfully funny ode to bad behavior!" - Los Angeles Times

“Fantastic and often brutal. One of the true highlights of the 2001 Sundance Film Festival.

Stephanie Bennett is amazing. Barrial and Bennett demonstrate that in the new millennium,

great new talent continues to crawl out of the woodwork.” - Film Threat

"Some Body, a terrifically sharp-eyed and innovative drama set in the Los Angeles singles scene,

is built around the fascinating nothings of life on the romantic prowl." - Entertainment Weekly

"Coming at you like a blast of super-Altoids, Some Body ably captures the frantic hunt for romantic connection among urban twenty-somethings. A spirited and poignant bulletin from singlesville. Anyone who's been

Out There will recognize the terrain. Makes for a spunky, original take on a theme that will resonate with

singles of many ages." - Film Journal

"Victims of the singles scene will recognize much in this film.  Its material is raw and frank, the performances are naturalistic yet potent, and there are no false notes."  - Houston Chronicle

"So dead-on in its evocation of the games people play that it's hard to tell

where real life steps back and art steps in." - Newsday

"Raw, unbridled cinema...covers ground all too familiar on the modern dating scene." - Dallas Morning News

"Revelatory...achieving some honest insight into relationships that most high-concept films candy-coat with pat storylines, precious circumstances and beautiful stars." - Boxoffice Online

Samantha is a schoolteacher lost in the netherworld of her late 20’s--no longer young but not yet middle aged.  She leaves her long-time boyfriend, who she’s been living with in a “brother and sister” relationship for quite some time.

Wanting change and searching for an elusive happiness, Samantha strikes out on her own.  But she quickly finds the regeneration she seeks can be far from romantic.  From the classrooms filled with smiling children, to the crowded bars of Los Angeles, Samantha goes looking for life; its fun, its love, its passion, and its meaning. This is a film about what she found.
